d. Budgeting & Financial Control
– Review cost‑estimation methods, profit‑margin calculations and cash‑flow tracking.

e. Crisis Management & Problem Solving
– Create a “run‑sheet” with contingency plans for common disruptions (weather, technical failures, staffing shortages).
– Role‑play emergency scenarios to improve quick‑decision making.

f. Communication & Language Skills
– Polish English reading, writing and speaking – practice formal email etiquette, proposal writing and client presentations.
– Develop concise briefing documents for internal teams and external partners.

g. Technology & Virtual Events
– Gain hands‑on experience with platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, Hopin, and virtual event management software.
– Learn to integrate live streaming, interactive polls and virtual networking tools.

3. CREATE A STRONG APPLICATION PACKET
• Resume

– Emphasise project‑management, vendor‑relation and crisis‑management achievements.

• Cover Letter
– Address the email subject exactly as instructed: “Manager/Coordinator (Event Management)”.
– Explain why your background matches the listed responsibilities and how your calm demeanor benefits high‑pressure events.

• Portfolio (optional but recommended)
– Compile event proposals, floor‑plans, photographs of past events, client testimonials and post‑event evaluation reports.
– Present the portfolio in PDF format with clear sections for corporate, social and virtual events.

4. PRE‑INTERVIEW PREPARATION
a. Research Event City

– “What steps do you take to ensure an event stays within budget?”
– “Explain your process for evaluating a virtual event’s success.”

c. Prepare STAR Stories (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for at least five relevant experiences, focusing on problem‑solving, team coordination and client satisfaction.

d. Practice a Brief Self‑Introduction (30‑seconds) that showcases your years of experience, key strengths and enthusiasm for contributing to Event City’s growth.

5. LOGISTICS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW DAY
• Set up a professional email address and signature if you do not already have one.
• Check internet connectivity and test any video‑call platform the employer might use.
• Print a copy of your resume, cover letter and portfolio in case an in‑person interview is offered.
• Plan your travel route to the Dhanmondi office, allowing extra time for traffic.

6. CONTINUE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
– Enrol in a short‑term certification (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional, Event Management Certificate) to strengthen credentials.
– Attend local industry networking events or webinars to stay updated on trends such as hybrid event technology and sustainable event practices.
– Join professional groups (e.g., Meeting Professionals International, International Live Events Association) for mentorship and job‑market insights.

7. FOLLOW‑UP AFTER APPLICATION
– Send a polite thank‑you email within 24 hours of any interview, reiterating your interest and summarizing how your skill set matches the role.
– If you haven’t heard back within a week, consider a brief follow‑up to confirm receipt of your application.

By systematically developing the required knowledge, showcasing proven experience through a targeted resume and portfolio, and preparing thoroughly for the interview, you will present yourself as the ideal candidate for the Manager, Operations (Event Management) position at Event City. Good luck!
