3. Strengthen Your Knowledge of Life‑Insurance Products and Distribution
• Review the main life‑insurance policy types (term, whole life, endowment, ULIP, pension plans) and their features, benefits, underwriting criteria and profitability drivers.
• Understand how distribution works in the local market: agency models, bancassurance, bancassurance, bancassurance, bancassurance (typo – remove duplicate), digital channels, bancassurance, bancassurance? • Practice building sales forecasts, pipeline management and performance dashboards. Be ready to discuss how you set annual targets, monitor performance, and take corrective actions.
• Work on case studies that involve market analysis, customer segmentation, competitor benchmarking and opportunity identification.
• Review basic financial metrics relevant to insurance – combined ratio, persistency rate, lapse rate, new business value, ROI of sales campaigns.

5. Prepare a Targeted Resume and Cover Letter
• Use a clean, professional format. Start with a strong summary that mentions: “10+ years senior business development experience, proven track record in life‑insurance agency growth, expertise in building high‑performing sales teams”.
• Include a “Key Achievements” section under each relevant role with metrics.
• Add a “Core Competencies” list that mirrors the required skills: Leadership, Agency Network Development, Sales Strategy, Market Analysis, Product Collaboration, Coaching & Mentoring, Negotiation, KPI Management.
• Attach a recent, high‑resolution photograph as requested.

6. Anticipate Interview Questions and Prepare Answers
• Leadership: “Describe a time you turned around an under‑performing sales team.”
• Business Development: “How would you expand our agency network into Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 cities?”
• Strategy: “What steps would you take to improve persistency rates for our term life products?”
• Collaboration: “Give an example of working with product development to launch a new insurance solution.”
• Analytical: “Walk us through a sales forecast you built and the assumptions you used.”
• Situational: “If a key agency manager leaves unexpectedly, how would you ensure continuity of sales performance?”

Structure each answer using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) and include quantifiable outcomes.

7. Plan Your Questions for the Employer
• Inquire about the current size and structure of the individual life‑insurance sales force and agency network.
• Ask about the company’s growth targets for the next 3‑5 years and the role of digital distribution.
• Clarify expectations for travel frequency, reporting lines, and key performance indicators.
• Seek insight into the collaboration process between sales, product, operations and finance.

8. Practical Preparations
• Update LinkedIn profile to reflect the same achievements and keywords as your resume.
• Gather professional references who can speak to your leadership and business development impact.
• Ensure you have a reliable internet connection and a quiet space for virtual interviews if required.
• Prepare a professional attire suitable for a corporate interview in Bangladesh.

• Use the subject line: “Application – Business Development Lead – Individual Life Insurance”.
• Double‑check that all attachments are correctly named (e.g., “YourName_Resume.pdf”, “YourName_Photo.jpg”).
• Send the email well before the 30 November 2025 deadline to avoid any last‑minute technical issues.

10. Post‑Submission Follow‑Up
• Mark the date of submission and set a reminder to follow up after one week if you have not received an acknowledgment.
• If contacted for an interview, confirm the date, time, format and the name(s) of the interviewers.
